They offer agreements to their customers to maintain highly specialized equipment for an extended period of time. These contracts include parts and labor as well as operation & maintenance of the equipment. 

 
 
 

The Problem

Contractual Risk Management 

As the market moves away from fixed interval maintenance schedules and turns to predictive maintenance these contracts have not only become costly to construct but put all of the risk back on the client to manage. To effectively manage and mitigate the risks you need to understand all aspects of the contract and how this relates to the engineering science behind your products. As with most contracts, they are hundreds of pages of text that are not organized in a way for intelligent systems to provide assistance. Our client needed to establish a centralized process and tool to assess, monitor and manage risks in current and future contracts.

Integris Group was able to work with the client to provide not only thought leadership on the development of this product but add domain expertise in risk mitigation and business process reengineering. The Result

Software-Driven Outcomes

Our solution was to develop a custom software product that organizes the contract into its various data elements, allow each element to be assessed for risk and then report on these risks. The data can be viewed in a number of ways so that various teams can weigh in on the risks, mitigation plan, quantity of risks for a given product and total financial penalties at stake. In addition, the solution is used for organizational tactical and strategic planning. This effort created the initial framework, which in turn, created substantial value across the enterprise and is still being used today.
